Ziering"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>DO, FISHRS, FAOCD, FAAD<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education and Training<\/strong><br>Dr. Ziering received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in 1989 in Miami, Florida. He underwent his internship with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and simultaneously began working with the MHR surgical team, assisting Dr. Matt Leavitt with hair transplant surgery. These years would prove to be the foundational ones where Dr. Ziering explored his fascination with how hair grows naturally and<br>the impact of progressive hair loss. These would be those years when he began crafting his surgical skills based on a pure love and desire to achieve more natural looking results. Dr. Ziering would go on to complete his residency in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at Ohio University\u2019s Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio in 1993. After this period of extensive post graduate education and training, Dr. Ziering spent time completing a formal Fellowship in Hair Restoration Medical Hair Restoration in Orlando, Florida under the supervision of Dr. Matt Leavitt and eventually became the Associate Medical Director at Medical Hair Restoration MHR, serving in this capacity for a period of ten years and performing surgery in Orlando, Miami, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Washington, DC and New York City.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2003, Dr. Ziering opened the doors to his private practice, Ziering Medical, which is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California with surgical centers located in Newport Beach, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Over time, Ziering Medical expanded to Chicago and New York City.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As one of the pioneers in male and female hair transplantation, Dr. Ziering has over 27 years of experience perfecting the art and science of hair restoration surgery. Dr. Ziering\u2019s expertise has led to ground breaking innovations such as the Ziering Whorl, the Ziering Blades, the Ziering Scope and the Ziering Tunnel Technique which are used by surgeons around the globe. As a leading authority in the field of hair transplant surgery who has performed over 22,000<br>procedures, he is often featured on shows such as The Doctors, The Today Show, E! News, Good Morning America, Extreme Makeover, Good Day LA and most recently stars in the hit Netflix series, Celebrity Plastic Surgeons of Beverly Hills. Dr. Ziering\u2019s reputation for discretion, perfection and excellence often attracts the likes of celebrities, royalty, high level executives and sports figures \u2013 many of whom are his patients.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ziering Medical is Dr. Ziering\u2019s home base for his innovative spirit and need to tinker and experiment. As the first hair transplant surgeon in the western US to purchase the ARTAS Robotic System, Dr. Ziering would go on to develop a clinical workflow for larger cases and to introduce the system in Europe. Our offices in Beverly Hills and New York are designated as beta test sites for Restoration Robotics, Inc., in which ongoing refinements for this evolving technology are developed and tested.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In our US offices and abroad, Dr. Ziering is frequently tapped to teach and train hair transplant surgeons around the globe how to use this advanced technology as well as how to integrate it into their international practices. He recently completed a teaching tour in Asia, working with hair transplant surgeons in South Korea, Taiwan, and The Philippines.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affectionately called Dr. Z by colleagues and patients, he has been instrumental in suggesting, developing, and testing innovations and techniques with ARTAS Robotic surgery, such as fathering the all-important \u201cRobot Prep\u201d site making method which promotes healing and optimal surgical outcomes. Additional contributions include are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u2022 The first hair transplant surgeon to harvest 2000 robotic grafts in a single session and ultimately achieve a 3500 ARTAS graft procedure<br>\u2022 The first hair transplant surgeon to perform a Robotic FUE procedure on an African American patient,<br>\u2022 The first hair transplant surgeon to perform Robotic FUE on a female patient<br>\u2022 The first hair transplant surgeon to perform a long hair robotic FUE transplant<br>\u2022 The first hair transplant surgeon to perform the robotic site making procedure on live television<br>\u2022 To date, Dr. Ziering has completed nearly 1 million robotic FUE harvests and over 500 cases.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While maintaining his private practice and caring for his patients, he participates continuing medical education annually while frequently being tapped to teach and train other surgeons at Scientific Meetings in the US and abroad. Dr. Ziering has written chapters for hair restoration textbooks and published many articles on surgical and non-surgical treatments for hair loss in several medical publications.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Certification<br><\/strong>Dr. Ziering has met rigorous requirements to become Board Certified by both the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) and the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, (AOCD). He is active with the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS) and is privileged hold the position of Past President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Professional Appointments and Achievements <\/strong>                                           Currently Dr. Ziering serves on the faculty of the ISHRS World Congress and specifically as Chairman of the Advanced Board Review Course and the faculty of the ISHRS Live Surgery Workshop. He maintains membership on the ISHRS Fellowship Training Committee and the ISHRS CME Committee. He was also on the founding board of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ABHRS). In 2003, Dr. Ziering was recognized by his peers at the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgeons for his Whorl Hair Classification System<br>being awarded the prestigious, \u201cMost Original New Idea\u201d at that year\u2019s scientific assembly and has been awarded the \u201cClinic of Excellence\u201d designation from Restoration Robotics every year since 2013.
